Boston Bars

The city of Boston has large variety of bars. From a laid-back environment to upbeat and loud, Boston has the right bar for anyone. The majority of bars throughout Boston generally target the young adult crowd. Since there are over 50 colleges in the metropolitan area including MIT and Harvard, many students (200,000+) are potential customers. This is why the more popular bars are upbeat and have plenty of energy. However, Boston is not as “wild” as you would think. Most venues close at 1am and there isn’t much of an “all night” crowd. Here are some of the bars I would recommend if you live in Boston or are just visiting.

The B-Side Lounge is one of the most visited bars in Boston. This laid-back 1940s style cocktail lounge and beautiful artwork makes this bar quite unique. A nice touch they have added is a large hanging bomber airplane that fans away smoke from the diner with its propellers. You will find a diverse crowd at B-Side anytime of day or night. The bar attracts business people, bachelors, tattooed regulars, and the “rockers” due to the environment the B-Side has. Along with the great drinks availiable at the bar, a large variety of food is on the menu. From American food, crab, to fried calamari, this place has it all.

Tequila Rain is the perfect choice for sports fans. Over 25 big screen televisions broadcast sports games on daily basis. This newly built bar promises “spring break” every night of the year according to its website. This bar is more for college students due to the loud music from DJ’s and large selection of alcoholic beverages. They hold weekly Wet T-shirt contests as well as “Buff Body” contests. The location of Tequila Rain is right across the street of the Boston Red Sox stadium, which in turn brings in tons of business. Don’t even think about driving to B-Side during a Red Sox game due to all the parking being taken.

As with most bars in Boston, the energy and environment will always be satisfying. You are guaranteed to have a great time if you plan on going to any bar in Boston. Just be sure to look into some reviews before you waste your time and money on some lousy music or food.

Thanks to its young population and wide variety of evening attractions, there are few places on the East coast that offer the same quality of nightlife promised by Boston. In the bars and clubs around both the city centre and Back Bay areas you can enjoy a fantastic night out that you might even remember the following morning.

In the centre of the city there are plenty of Boston bars and clubs to choose from, and there is a big enough selection to ensure that almost every visitor can find a place to go that will appeal to their tastes. From rowdy music clubs where you can hear live bans or rock music through to sophisticated wine bars and plenty of Irish bars, no matter what kind of nightlife you enjoy, you can find it in Boston.

One of the best places to go for a top class night out is Copley Square. Right in the heart of the city you will find some of the best of the Boston bars and clubs. From early evening, when locals start to finish work through until after midnight, people will head for the area to relax with friends, and there is a relaxed atmosphere in most of the bars that you will really enjoy.

For a more authentic night out with the locals, head for Back Bay. Many people describe this as the real Boston, and it is certainly a place where people know how to have fun. Although there are comparatively few of the locals in the main tourist bars along the main streets, if you go off the beaten track a little, you will find some of the best Irish bars outside Dublin, and really enjoy chatting with the locals over a pint of Guinness.

If you spend a night out enjoying Boston bars and clubs, remember that the drinking laws in the city mean that you can’t buy alcohol under the age of 21, and that the licensing hours run pretty much 24 hours a day, so you can enjoy your evening for much longer than in many other destinations.
