Boston

Of all the US cities that you might want to visit, there are few with the same depth of history and culture as Boston. With many sights to see, great shopping throughout its suburbs and in the center of the city, along with the cultural attractions and museums that celebrate the rich history of the city, Boston is truly one of the top destinations for leisure in the whole country, and attracts millions of visitors every year.

For many people, one of the main reasons for visiting Boston is that it enjoys such a fantastic location at the gateway to New England. Many people choose to start their New England driving tour in the fall with a few nights in Boston, but the fact is that the city offers so much that it is possible to spend plenty of time in Boston and really get a lot out of your time in the city.

As with most cities, Boston has a huge list of major must see attractions that visitors travel to the city in order to experience. The historic docks where the Boston Tea Party took place and the old town hall which was an important location during the American Revolution are both highlights where you can get a great deal of insight into the history of both the city and the nation.

Boston is a city where one of the real highlights of any visit is the opportunity to take advantage of the amazing shopping opportunities that are available. Back Bay is one of the top retail areas in the country and offers visitors the chance to enjoy a wide range of retail opportunities such as major department stores and smaller boutiques. There are also a number of larger warehouse style outlets on the outskirts of the city where you can find some real bargains. Because of all these factors, Boston is widely regarded as one of the best shopping areas in the whole US, and attracts people from all over the world - particularly in the run up to Christmas.

One of the most appealing things about Boston is the fact that the city management have made many areas of the city into pedestrian areas. This makes exploring the city on foot a real pleasure, and allows you to really get to grips with the layout of Boston and discover some of its less well known highlights as you meander through the historic streets between the most famous sights.
